FIFA Sack Deputy Secretary General Markus Kattner

Deputy to the secretary general of football world governing body FIFA, Markus Kattner has been fired after the organisation uncovered ‘breaches of his fiduciary responsibilities’. Kattner has been removed from his position with immediate effect.

A statement released on Fifa’s website on Monday evening read: ‘Fifa’s deputy secretary general Markus Kattner has been dismissed from his position effective immediately.

‘Fifa’s internal investigation uncovered breaches of his fiduciary responsibilities in connection with his employment contract.

‘Fifa will not comment further on any of the details, but will continue its cooperation with the relevant authorities.’
