Hodgson Names England's Euro 2016 squad - Marcus Rashford IN while Leicester Title-winner Drinkwater Left Out

Roy Hodgson has included Manchester United's wonderkid Marcus Rashford in his final 23-man England squad for Euro 2016. The forward scored on his Three Lions debut in the 2 – 1 international friendly against Jamaica on Friday and his inclusion cements a meteoric six month rise from youth player to senior international.

Rashford only made his first senior appearance for United as a last minute replacement for the injured Anthony Martial in February’s Europa League tie against FC Midtjylland, but has not looked back since, going on to net seven goals in 16 games.

England boss Hodgson needed to cut three names from his provisional 26-man squad, having twice delayed his announcement due to injury concerns.

And it has now been confirmed that the two other omissions take place in midfield.

Newcastle winger Andros Townsend has been axed, while Leicester title-winner Danny Drinkwater also misses out on a place in the final squad for the tournament in France. Despite playing well when England beat Germany in March, it appears did not do enough to impress Hodgson against Jamaica on Friday.
