Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas Reveals Arsenal’s £50million Bid for Alexandre Lacazette

Although he didn’t name anyone in particular, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has now revealed further offers of £50m from Premier League clubs, which were still not enough to persuade them to part with their star player. The Gunners were known admirers of the France international, with Lyon confirming at the time that they’d rejected their bid of £29million for him.

‘This summer, we rejected €55m (£49.7m) for Lacazette from two Premier League clubs and €37m from Napoli for (Corentin) Tolisso,’ Aulas told Tuttosport.

Arsenal’s long search for a striker eventually took them to Lucas Perez, who joined from Deportivo La Coruna, though Alexis Sanchez has ended up making the successful transition from out wide to up front this season.
