"He Even Cried in Ferguson’s Office Over the Way He Was Treated." - Mum Reveals How Pogba Was Punished in Old Trafford

Pogba was a key figure in Manchester United's academy squad before he quited Old Trafford in 2012 after three years at the club to join Juventus on a free transfer. Pogba was a bright prospect was not given chance to shine in Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson has now come under serious criticism from Paul Pogba's mother, who revealed the former Manchester United manager made her son cry in his office.

Ferguson was furious with the move, claiming the Frenchman had shown a lack of respect in his decision to snub a new contract. The 23-year-old has since grown into one of the most sought-after players in European football, with United supposedly keen to re-sign him.

And his mother Yeo Moriba told agency APF why the midfielder had quit United four years ago.

“We had got together with his brothers and we decided: he [Pogba] won’t re-sign," she said.

“Ferguson punished him, he didn’t play him, Paul was alone.

"He even cried in Ferguson’s office over the way he was treated.”

United are the bookmakers' favourite to sign Pogba from Juventus this summer, with Chelsea also supposedly keen. Juve want £78million (€100m) for their start man - a price no suitor has yet met.

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly considering an offer but Spanish newspaper Marca claim Real Madrid will push for a deal this summer.
