"We are All Happy that We Got a Coach Like Morinho" Says Bastian Schweinsteiger

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss was confirmed as Louis van Gaal’s successor last week following the Dutchman’s sacking. Despite his close relationship with the former Bayern Munich boss, the Germany international is confident United will thrive under Mourinho’s management.

Schweinsteiger who played under Van Gaal at Bayern Munich and was persuaded to move to Old Trafford last summer by the 64-year-old.

‘I think we did a great job getting Jose Mourinho to Manchester, one of the best coaches – if not the best – in European football,’ the 31-year-old said.

‘But we will get to the topic of Manchester United later.

‘We are all happy that we got a coach like that, but right now the players are thinking more about the Euros not about United.’
